Transportation and Handyman Help

Transportation Services

MCSS provides FREE transportation to seniors, 60 years or older who live in our SERVICE AREA(see below), to specific social gatherings. Please call our Hotline @ 719-488-0076 to schedule a ride or to find out more information.

*MCSS has partnered with Envida to help with private transportation to medical appointments, groceries, prescription pickup, YMCA,  and Tri-Lakes Cares IN EL PASO COUNTY. Envida also provides Medicaid and Wheelchair transportation.  Please call Envida @ 719-633-4677 to schedule a ride.

We also provide transportation to specific social events in the Tri-Lakes area. Our shuttle bus picks up seniors and returns them home. We contact riders the day before the event to make sure they wish to participate that day. The MCSS shuttle bus provides group rides to and from Silver Key Connections Cafe Senior Lunches held at the Mountain Community Mennonite Church  (643 CO-105, Palmer Lake, CO, 80133) Monday through Thursday, with a few exceptions:

  • A bingo game follows lunch on the second Thursday and the third Wednesday of the month
  • A movie at the Tri-Lakes Senior Center follows lunch every Monday
  • Lunch and transportation are cancelled on federal holidays and due to inclement weather

In addition to going to the Silver Key Connections Cafe senior lunches Monday through Thursday, the MCSS shuttle bus also provides transport to and from:

  • Breakfast at Village Inn then shopping at WalMart on the second Tuesday of the month
  • Senior tea on the third Tuesday of the month
  • Restaurant outing on the first Thursday of the month

Participants need to be physically able to enter and exit the shuttle bus safely with little assistance.  Our drivers are volunteers and may use our bus or their own vehicles. Because the safety of our clients is very important to us, all drivers have gone through DMV and security background checks.
